Diet Motivation Secrets

Auto Date Saturday, May 24th, 2008

People are always looking for a way to lose weight without the
pain and suffering of actually going on a diet and exercising.
Well, unfortunately there is no such way to lose weight. But a
person can achieve diet motivation.

Diet motivation is the desire and drive to eat smaller portions
of healthier foods and exercise more frequently. While it is not
an easy thing to achieve, it can be done with some tips and
advice on dieting and motivational skills.

To get started on your diet motivation, you must first decide
what your desired weight loss should be. This is where it gets
tricky. The goal must be realistic and possible to obtain. If we
set our weight loss goal at 50 pounds, yes it is a great plan,
but not realistic for most of us.

If the goals are set too high, they are useless to our cause. If
they can’t be met then they are detrimental to our diet
motivation. So, the goals that we set must be both, realistic
and possible to reach. This goes for our exercise goals as well.

Don’t set a goal for working out two hours every day. That would
be great to be able to do that, however, it is really unlikely
that the average person can do that and commit to it every day.
As you reach your goals, you can then raise your standards and
climb up as you go.

The foods that you eat will more than likely have to be altered
as well. The key to success with any weight loss program is that
you should expend more energy than your caloric intake. It is
really that simple.

You do not have to deny yourself of everything that you enjoy
eating. Just downsize the portions and eat these items in
moderation. As a matter of fact, studies show that the people
who do deprive themselves of their favorite foods, end up
binging on those foods and going off their diets all together
after time.

Again, you can have pretty much anything you want in the food
group, just use common sense and eat less and exercise more to
burn off any extra that you have eaten.

Diet motivation will become a habit in the same way that
overeating becomes a habit. Your body will get used to the
workouts and the healthy eating, and it will be come natural
after time.

Think of the positives of obtaining diet motivation. You will
feel better, you will look better and you will have more self
discipline and will power. All those things combined are going
to make a better you.

Focusing on Your Purpose

So many people are tormented by fear and don’t realize how
negative thinking affects them. They build a prison for
themselves with suggestions of limitation, incapacity, and
unworthiness. They don’t think of succeeding, but of how they
will fail.

It’s been said that a person does not get want they want, but
what they picture. It’s those dominate thoughts that are being
attracted to you, not your greatest dreams. So, the way to
attract the things you desire is to hold a mental picture of
what you want as long as possible, and as often as possible.
Feel that you already have what you desire with certainty and
you will see it become manifested in your life.

It’s a simple concept, and it’s true. It’s just not easy. It’s
not easy because we are bombarded daily with all kinds of
negative thoughts, and then we are forced to decide what to do
with them after they’ve entered our minds.

There is just no way a person can enjoy life to its full with a
head full of negative thoughts. The will of God is abundance,
prosperity, blessings, peace, joy, and righteousness. Thoughts
of fear, worry, dread, and poverty are in direct opposite to
God’s plan. In fact, they are the devil’s plan.

2 Corinthians 4:4 says, Satan has become the god of this world,
and it’s his will to completely destroy us. But, God has put
limits on the devil. He cannot cross the blood line. Therefore,
the main way he disrupts people’s lives is by planting
suggestive thoughts in their heads, causing them all kinds of
grief.

A person cannot change what they do not acknowledge. So, if you
can acknowledge that if you live life passively, the devil will
destroy you.

He is not just going to sit by and watch as you become
outrageously blessed. The reason is because he hates God. And,
since he can not hinder God in any way, the best he can do is
hinder God’s most beloved possession - you!

As Christians, we are just passing through and we must be like
Jesus, completely focused on our mission. And, that mission is
pursuing the purpose God put in each of us. Too many Christians
are confused because they do not have a clue as to why they are
here.

You must absolutely know where you are headed in life and have a
fixed goal in view before you’ll ever attain what you’re after.

You must be definite on what it is that you desire and not
consistently changing your mind according to your moods on any
given day. James 1:6-8 says, “Let him ask in faith with no
doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind. Let not that man suppose that he will
receive anything from the Lord, for he is a double-minded man,
and unstable in all his ways.”

Many people go through the lip-service act of saying their
prayers without the slightest belief that those prayers will be
answered. Consequently, they are not answered, and the same
people will scratch their head and wonder why God is not
answering their prayers.

Jesus said, “According to your faith, let it be done unto you”
(Matt 9:29). How can anything positive “be done unto you” if you
are not exercising your faith in what you desire?

If you’re frustrated and tired of going around the same mountain
of problems day after day, then ask yourself some serious
questions:

1) “Do I know God’s will for my life, or do I not have a clue
what He’s created me for?”

2) “Do I have direction, or am I just wandering around
aimlessly?”

3) “Do I know exactly what I want and how I’m going to get
there, or do I just wait and see what’s going to happen?”

4) “Do I have goals, and if so, are they written down?”

5) “Am I confessing what God’s Word says about me daily, or do I
even know any of God’s Word?”

You are created with a purpose! You may say, “I know, but I
don’t know what my purpose is.” If that’s what you are saying,
the devil has successfully faked you out.

God has a purpose for each person and I believe your purpose is
in your interests! You will never be ultimately successful doing
something you do not enjoy.

Is your work “just a job,” or do you truly enjoy it?
Ecclesiastes 2:24 says, “Nothing is better for a man than that
he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in
his labor.”

So, ask yourself what it is that you like to do? Once you
discover it, then do it with all your might. Ecclesiastes 9:10
says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your
might.”

It is vital that you know God’s will for your life. Things that
are not God’s will for you get frustrating. They don’t manifest
positive results because they are not part of God’s plan. In
those cases you must be honest with yourself and stop pursuing
those things.

But, if you know with all your heart that God has spoken
something to you, then you must pursue it with everything you’ve
got.

Now, you will only be able to pursue it with everything you’ve
got by first controlling and directing your thoughts.

It’s a decision you make concerning what you think about. So
whether you think success, or failure, that’s what you will
eventually reap. Without directed thought aimed at your purpose,
and goals in writing, you are like the proverbial “ship without
a rudder,” wandering everywhere while going nowhere (remember
James 1:6-8).

Because our thoughts are vibrating energy, we create what we
want by focusing our thoughts on those things. So, a big mistake
is trying to figure out how you are going to do something before
you do it. Start by believing you can do it and the “how-to”
will follow, for strong belief triggers the mind to figuring the
ways and the means.

Now, faith without works is dead (James 2:20). You’re simply not
committed until you take action. Think positive thoughts, come
up with ideas, seek advice from Godly people who are on the same
page, spend time with God and seek His council.

Within you right now is the power to do things you never dreamed
possible. This power becomes available to you just as soon as
you change your beliefs by eliminating thoughts of limitation,
incapacity, and unworthiness. Remember, you do not get want you
want, but what you picture.

Self Improvement Motivation: Design Your Destiny With Positive Habits

Auto Date Monday, April 28th, 2008

Every (and I do mean EVERY) human potential success coach from
the most famous to the little known conclude, that habits hold the
key to success or failure.

According to the dictionary, a habit is an acquired pattern of
behavior that has become almost involuntary as a result of frequent
repetition.

Our habits dictate the quality of life we experience. If you
procrastinate, talk negatively to yourself and allow fear to rule,
you are going to have a very stressful life overflowing with anxiety
and sadness. I know, because that is where I’ve come from.

The key to creating lasting positive results in any area of your life,
must first start with changing the way you think before changing the
way you act.

Here are the top three bad habits that effect most of us
at some time in our lives.

1. Fear (Yes fear is a habit!)

It is said F.E.A.R stands for “False Evidence Appearing Real” and
after a lifetime of confronting just about every fear I can think
of, fear of success, fear of failure, fear of letting me be me…

I can tell you for certain that living in fear is the worst habit
of them all. It is the root of all other bad habits like
smoking, overeating, addictions etc. (Fear is the enemy of
inspiration and motivation.)

No matter what changes you want to make in your life you are
going to feel some degree of fear. But I can tell you from
experience that the secret is to feel the fear and take action anyway.
Action defeats fear!

2. Negative self-talk

I am also guilty of this self-inflicted punishment as well.
I have come to discover that humans are in fact self
fulfilling prophecies and that our thoughts do matter.

The problem is that most of us don’t consciously use negative
self talk, it ends up becoming more like a mantra or a label we
brand ourselves with.

For Example:

I used to call my self a lot of things, a procrastinator, fat,
shy and I would follow it up whenever someone challenged me
with a reinforcing, “That’s just the way I am.”

Although I thought I was just poking fun at myself, I realize
after years of unconscious repetition that negative self-talk
was one of the main things holding me back from following my
heart and creating the life of my dreams.

3. Procrastination

Up until a few months ago you could look this word up in the
dictionary and see my picture. I would beat myself up night
after night for not following through with a phone call or an
article idea. I would wait until the last minute to do anything,
then become so stressed out that I wasn’t much fun to be around.

Overcoming the negative habit of procrastination can truly
change your life. When you learn to take action as soon as the
mood strikes and stop when the feeling is gone, you will find after
just a few weeks of inspired action that you have begun to create
something of value. Practice anything with conscious awareness and
specific intent for 21 days and you will amaze yourself. I promise!

It is worth taking the steps to replace the habits that have been
holding you back from living a richer more fulfilling life. If I can
do it, anyone can.

My 6th grade teacher dragged me into the hall by my hair, looked me
in the eye, pounded his finger in my chest and told me I was stupid
and would never amount to anything…

…See Mr. McCarthy I’m not stupid.

What is Motivation Really?

Auto Date Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Motivation is actually the drive to do something, mostly to be
productive and to finish whatever task it is that is assigned to
you. However, motivation isnt just a word, it isnt just a
definition. It is something that can b achieved with will power,
and few other steps.

Motivation isnt simply deciding on doing something and then
starting it. The right motivation is something that doesnt harm
anyone and something that drives you from start to finish and a
long time after it.

Everyone has their share of slumps and bad days, and these are
normal, however hard it is to get properly motivated after a
failure, it is still the only way to get back o track. So what
is motivation? It is a series of steps that you take so that
youll get back your old drive and maybe something even more.

Start!

As the song said, Lets start at the very beginning, a very
good place to start. First youve got to realize that you do
lack motivation, and you should take action. Stop thinking and
start moving, either get yourself prepped or get yourself
pumped. The fact that youre reading this probably means that
youve already started the action, and thats very good.

Learn to Act A lesson in one of the Dale Carnegie Training plans
state that if you act enthusiastic [youll] be enthusiastic.
Tell yourself youre excited, be pumped, even if its just in
your mind. If jumping for joy, eve if your not very happy, about
a new tasks gets your blood pumped then do it.

It doesnt matter how big as long as you get it done Start with
something small, something easily achievable and then build up
confidence. Its just like those computer games where you start
at low levels with small rewards, and as you go up every level,
you get bigger rewards and bigger challenges. Build up your
confidence and then proceed to more challenging activities.

Try to beat the game When you start a game, you enter with the
goal to finish it, you dont play a game thinking, ok, if I get
to level 11 then Im satisfied, no you aim to beat the game.
Thats how it should be in life, you start small but think big,
knowing where you want to go will serve as your guide.

Set your Goals and your limitations Thinking big is good, but
thinking too big will be suicidal. Going back to the game
example, its good to want to beat the game in easy level but
wanting to beat the game using a difficult setting when you
havent event done the easy setting yet would be very difficult
indeed. Goals are good when they are achievable.

Dont be afraid to ask for help Remember the game super Mario
Brothers? Its a really hard game, but then when you get a
friend to play with you using the two player setting, it a lot
easier to dodge the bullets and to beat Koopa. This should be
the same with getting motivated. Youll also need motivators to
help you. There will be times when youd want to just give up,
and its good to have a few back ups to get you back on track
when you do.

Have a Plan set Have a timeline, a set of short term goals, like
finish level 2 by the end of day two or get this equipment
before the third trimester. Put your effort into every day of
work, be consistent and follow your schedule.

Give yourself a reward once in a while It all boils down to what
you get when you finish. And basically, the reward system has
worked for animals in training and naughty children, so why
shouldnt it work for you? Reward yourself for a job well done
so that youll get motivated to be motivated each day. And if
worse comes to worst, make the reward your motivation to be
motivated.

Basically, once you do these steps, your slump should be but a
distant memory, all you need to do is to make it a habit. When
you trip and fall, your feet dont fall off, they stay, a little
bruised and scratched but still usable, all it needs is a little
effort to stand back up again.

Being Creative is Essential for Online Success

Auto Date Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Do you have a strategy that ensures your online business stands out from the crowd?

If your answer to the above is NO then you need to address this issue, because if you don’t, it is unlikely that your online presence will even be noticed.

With there being so much competition in every field on the internet it is essential that you offer your target market something different than your competitors.

By distinguishing your product or service you immediately position your business apart from the masses of your competition and therefore your chances of capturing your target market are greatly enhanced.

But how do you do this, you may ask when there is apparently no other way to package your business other than the tried and tested way?

Well, in my opinion, this is the time to be creative and think & do things differently.

If you employ a creative thought process when it comes to packaging and presenting your product or service the chances are you will get close to the top of the pile instead of languishing hidden down with the masses of similar type businesses.

However, the thought of having to come up with new ideas is pretty scary although all of us have at least one or two creative cells lurking in our brains somewhere.

If you have ever used an implement for a purpose other than that for which it was intended, demonstrates a certain degree of creativity. So if you have ever done this you may have an aptitude for thinking outside of the box which is certainly a valuable asset for any businessman.

As an online entrepreneur selling widgets your creative strategy should be to communicate the features and benefits of these widgets in a uniquely aggressive but charming manner to captivate your site visitor’s interest.

To do this you need to make a list of all the ways you can think of to deliver such a message and combine them with existing ideas to stimulate your creative thinking.

Try and perform this process in a relaxed environment as this is the most conducive way to coming up with brilliant ideas. Remember where Archimedes discovered the theory of relativity…in the bath, whereafter he ran outside in the nude shouting “eureka!”

Once you have decided on a creative concept you can use it for a long time and milk it for all the mileage you can get out of it. This means that, as most of us aren’t blessed with the same degree of creative variety as the top Ad Agency executives are, you won’t be pressured into coming up with a new strategy every so often.

Online businesses have one of the most popular and fastest growing mediums to show off their products and services and those that take full advantage of this medium by creative positioning will the success they deserve.

A well executed concept and strategy is vital for internet success and longevity.

Love and Laughter - Celebrating the Gift of Life

Auto Date Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Only you can call me into aliveness. Each time you try to understand and because you really care, my heart begins to grow wings, very small wings, very feeble wings, but wings. With your sensitivity and sympathy, and your power of understanding, you can breathe life into me. ~ Charles C. Finn

Life is our brief precious time to feelto experience love, laughter, and wonderto design and contribute our unique creations and expressions of who we are and what we want to leave behind.

I paused to think about this gift of life, mysterious and marvelous. Filled with roller coaster highs and lows, each moment of life is exhilarating.

Our living energy continuously moves and changes, always seeking increase and offering abundance. I asked, “How do I celebrate this precious gift of life?”

Here are ten ways I like to celebrate being alive.

  1. Walking though nature, and noticing the perfection in each intimate landscape.
  2. Going to special places that fill me with energy; allowing that energy to wash away negativity; simply being instead of wanting or doing.
  3. Hiking up the trail to a mountaintop in summer; skiing down from a mountaintop in winter.
  4. Looking through an album filled with photos of friends and the places we have traveled.
  5. Doing a favor for someone I have never met and making a new friend.
  6. Enjoying the company of friends and family; laughing together and exchanging jokes, stories, and experiences.
  7. Looking into a starry sky and imagining just how far it actually reaches.
  8. Sharing experiences, joys, hopes, and future dreams with a friend.
  9. Fully experiencing each moment and its emotions; remembering that all emotions are part of being alive.
  10. Giving thanks to the Creator for allowing me to live on this planet, for friends and family, and for a gift so complete and perfect as life.

There is a beautiful quote by Frederick Buechner:

Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis, all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.

Allow your heart to grow wings. Savor every moment of life and reflect deeply on each experience. Celebrate the peaks and valleys. Become aware of the authentic joy that continually binds moment to moment, year to year, and generation to generation.

Most importantly, give life the best you have, and life will give its best back to you.
